Synopsis
The global payments card industry is a highly specialized space, governed by strict technical and manufacturing standards. In 2023 alone, credit card purchase volumes reached $19.6 trillion, with debit cards close behind at $17.7 trillion—underscoring the vast scale and relevance of this market.
As Lead Designer on the marketing team at a fintech company specializing in payment card security, I created a wide range of card designs for credit, debit, and prepaid products. This work required deep technical knowledge of industry specifications—including EMV compliance, chip placement, NFC technology, and surface treatments—to ensure every design was production-ready and aligned with global standards.
I produced design concepts and prototypes for clients including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, many of which were presented to top executives at banks, card issuers, and processors. Several of these designs advanced to full production and were launched in the market.
